Torchlight Multiplayer?

Got this game for 4.99 and am having a good bit of fun with it. Anyone heard if it will go multiplayer/MMO? I saw a few forum posts claiming it will and would really like to play it with friends.

I'm thinking it may be something like Lunia but better.

I think that would be great....BUT...

It needs to have a wider FOV if there were two players. With all that stuff going on (and things like summoned critters and your pet) it could get VERY confusing....

I think it will, from the official Steam page for it:
"Runic Games will initially release Torchlight as a standalone Single Player game, Torchlight will be released in the latter part of 2009 as a download or in box. Following the single player release, work will commence on a fully-featured MMO version."

MMOs tend to fail, so hopefully they will just make a solid multiplayer version instead of trying something too ambitious :)
