Xbox Live Handle: Xetas

I don't have much time on my hands now that I have a little one to take care of but, I'd love to jump on and frag with some of you guys again.

My 17 yr old son is heavy into COD4 on XBox. His gamertag is PacoTheFlamingo.

He's really damn good IMO.

I don't do FPS on consoles - damn controller is not suitable for fine aiming :D

(someone wanna fix the thread title?)

The PC version only got 8.5. Users rated it 5.6 maybe they got some problems with the game.
Waiting for the patch :D

This game is dead for the PC side of things. Try it on Xbox.

IW really cheapshotted the PC users with the lack of dedicated servers. Instant gaming community killer. Disgruntled PC users are dragging down anything they can even on the console side with negative ratings and reviews. FPS style game on a console, game pad and autoaim? That just ain't natural. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 stands to carry on the genre on the PC side. DICE were quick to pounce on IW's arrogance saying dedicated servers are a go for PC. The money I planned for MW2 will likely go to BC2.

Good gameplay footage right here:

I hear that Side. Same for me - I will try Battlefield: Bad Company 2 instead.
It is funny to watch the backlash on MW2 though. Reminds me of UT3 a little and how the switch of focus to consoles was obvious.

Indeed. UT3 really gave the die hard PC gamer a slap in the face. The game essentially didn't stand a chance even before release. Funny how console gamers were calling UT their own until some with knowledge had to teach them where UT came from. The current gen consoles had a rocky start. A good few PC titles were ported over to save them. Now the PC gamers reward is having our own titles being ported over from the consoles to our side. No mouse menus, dumbed down settings etc. like we're all amatuers. The excuses these publishers use to defend it all is just as pathetic. Blaming piracy and making the experience easier for PC users is the most common thing I've seen.

Here's the future of PC multiplay if game publishers have their way and it isn't pretty. Could you imagine if this was how UT was in the beginning? I could feel this poor guys pain just trying to fire up a match.

That is horrid.

Why go through all he extra effort with finding a group, matchmaking, finding a "best host" and all that crap?

Make it so you can have a dedicated server (hell, make it so you can have a PC or a 360 server!) and give the people an option (advanced on the Box) to find a dedicated server.....

His comment at the end, "lazy port", is right.

Besides the BS game matching I'm loving MW2. :) It tore me away from the grindfest Aion. ;)

I think that was also what was frustrating about R6LV.

Matchmaking, in general, suxx0rs.

I have been playing MW2 for 3 weeks now, I loved the campaign levels, challenging and story driven. My issue is the multiplayer. I still think its a great game, tons of fun and worth every penny. Spraygun and I can set up a lan or play house to house and there is a lag that can ruin a spec ops game really quick, but its still fun as hell :)

I give it 2 snaps up in a circle ;)
