I want to see it, but I don't need to see it this weekend.

Me neither.

If I do not have a group to go (especially because of the kid) I will probably wait for the rental.

Or the video game, whichever comes out first? ;)

(BTW, i hav enot seen reviews on this yet, but Wolverine has gotten generally panned. 55 on Metacritic, with most saying (even comic fans) that it sorta missed the mark. I would probably say it is a 7 for X-Men fans who are willing to ignore the alterations to the base story, and probably a 5 to people who don't like this kind of thing to start with...)

When one of the first things I hear is that they do not like the fact they changed the Enterprise, I have to step back and say "K".

I would look for the non-serious Trekkie fans. The serious ones objecting to the fact that the enterprise does not look the same as a spaceship they designed in the 60's doe snot lend too much credibility to their overall outlook.

I am not saying that the movie will be great (That fight scene where they are standing outside on the hull looks VERY poorly choreographed) but still....

I am just wondering how they will attract the next generation of fans outside the extreme geeks. This looks like they were trying to attract more of teh main stream in there, but it looks like they may have alienated their die-hard "collector$"......

Dunno. Let us know what you think!

I liked it a lot but there were a lot of things Trekkies would be upset at. It pandered to the mainstream big time, but all in all it was extremely enjoyable.

I've watched Star Trek for the last 20 years...this is far and away the best movie they have ever made. 2 thumbs up!

I give this one 2 thumbs up and 2 big toes - Best Star Trek movie ever.

I won't give anything away but everything you thought you knew better re-think that.
