Why Norton Antivirus is a piece of crap..

I installed by error the free Norton Security Scan and the app detected a virus. The Virus was in many required windows system exe. Because it can just detect the virus, I downloaded Norton Antivirus 2010 trial to see if it is really a virus and if the antivirus can remove it. Norton detected it again and without any warning removed some files.:mad: I lost all my day to find which files because of course it was impossible to boot windows xp after that. :mad::mad::mad:

Agreed! :)
I had a similar experience only it was probably 10 years ago. Ever since, I've hated it. Any machine I've ever seen it on, all it does is slow down the system and cause problems... :mad:

The only virus proggie they had that was any good was the Norton Corporate Edition, which I did really like. The version I used (back in 2002) was far superior to the McAfee Enterprise stuff I use today.
