I found a refurb Olevia 26" for $239/free ship @ Buy.com today. I think I'm going to get that (1080p) and refuse the $299 32" 720p from Woot.

Christmas is not that far away...I bet someone in your family would love to get a 720p flatscreen TV...
Something to think about anyway.
But thumbs up on switching to a 1080p for you. You'll be happier and they make great multimedia/console monitors to boot.

I have a small family, and all of them have larger flat panels than this.
The 26" I found doesn't meet my requirements, but the price is right (refurb, $239, free shipping). My current 42" Vizio is 720P but I only have XBMC connected and it's fine. This is actually for the gym, not for the living room. Go figure.

Your fat ass has a gym?
Go fig!
(BTW, looking at the NE sets, some look sweet! I think the 45 and 40 inch samsungs are nice. Of course, try to convince my wife that it is good for the bedroom....ok, don't ! ;) )
