The only things that frustrated me about that game were simple.

1. Level Limit.
2. Hard to find spells. (It would make sense thatyou could find spells at, you know, a LIBRARY or something instead of having to kill a dragon and then having to drop something to pick it up since you only have X slots.......)
3. Skill gap. Like most games with a Head-to-Head component, it was hard to just come in and pick up.

I liked it, but not as much as the classic Oblivion series. I would like to see more of a crossover between the single player and multiplayer games like this. More co-op, but not MMORPG. Have one other person join you in Fallout, or Oblivion, or even Bioshock. They may rely on the feeling of being solitary, but sometimes it adds to the fun to have someone else along with you.

Oblivion is really not the same game. We talk about a mmo here. Oblivion is an old game concept with a lot of well made offline content. Guildwars is a new game concept with a lot of research. Skills are available for everyone in pvp since a long time. Your last login was 4 years ago. A lot of things have changed in 4 years. Level limit is to have a fair pvp system. I hate wow PVP because of the leveling system. The best leveling system in PVP is in League of Legend.
The best PVP with no leveling is in Guildwars.

They have done a bad thing in Guildwars by removing hero battles and organised 4vs4 match. They made too many changes in the skills mostly because of noobs complaining. Now the game is a little bit old and repetitive because only specific builds are enough good to be competitive.

Guildwars 2 is another game with new skills and game mecanic.
I think they learned a lot of things with Guildwars and other game companies too. Guildwars 2 is the future of the free online mmo. I hope other companies follow the movement and stop charging monthly fees.

Stop charging?

Not likely!

The only way they will stop doing that is if they make more money with less net cost by doing the charge at release and nothing more.

I just got bored with GW. You needed a pattern kind of strategy to be able to win the Vs battles and that was very difficult when you did not do the XX quest 15 times to get the special YY spell.....

There were definitely parts I liked, but it was just frustrating sometimes.....

Anywho!

First you don't have to do quests to get skills in pvp since many years and in pve it is more killing bosses than doing quests.

You just have to play pvp to unlock pvp skills and you can also buy all skills at the guildwars store. So it is not difficult at all.
I think the concept of playing the game to find the skills in the world and not at the store was great at the time but not everyone has the time to search on the internet to get the info on where are the skills and try to beat/reach the bosses and kill them. In wow you have some quests to get skills too and I remember have a lot of dam fun doing those quests.
But now you just play pvp games with a pvp character and unlock all the skills for all pvp characters and heroes. Heroes are new computer/player controled characters added after you quit the game and it is a great add-on. Too bad they removed heroes battles. I don't really understand.

So all I have to do is PAY THEM MORE MONEY to get "skills" in the game?

Again, no.
