I am trying to get what West Elm has on their site
http://www.facebook.com/pages/west-elm/41743172343?ref=ts&cm_ven=EDM_Promo&cm_cat=20090529_10off_last&cm_pla=NS&cm_ite=FnavFace
On the left hand column, they have a "share" banner.
I want to get that option and I think it's custom. Anyone know how to do that?

Do you already have a facebook business page? I think it's one of the options - only if you have a business page...

I think it depends on what type of business you set it up as... remember all the options at the beginning? Different types of businesses and organizations have different options available. For instance, I can set up a personal account and can put a search box for my library's books on it, but if I set up a library account, that option isn't there! Go figure!!! :p
Kind of funny story about that. When I realized a library page didn't get me the options I wanted, I opened a personal account under the name of our library. Then I emailed facebook to see if I could have my friends transferred over to the new account. Their response said that it was against their policy for me to set up an account under anything but my own name. So, I emailed back and told them that my name was the library's name. Next thing, I get an email from some old guy who says he remembers me from the class of 46!!! :D

Remove the 2 *'s and you'll have a cool sig like me:

i already did on his profile prior to the response earlier. what you see in his sig now is exactly what you get.... like i said, it won't work with Tensux' profile. it won't even work for mine. so i guess i'll try to figure out what the difference is between ours and yours.

Oak, you can pull it off because you're a Moderator and it's in your permissions to do so :)

Problem resolved. "Allow Image BB Code" option causes it.
I need to check this for super moderators and admins, becuase I know for a fact this wasn't working prior to the crash; I posted for comment on this @ the vBulletin forums and it was jacked up. I've never been a moderator, so it never worked for me when I tested as well.

I don't think I'm setup as a mod anymore.
His link was missing a bracket before the url and both img tags.

Yes, actually you are. You and Lil both. That's the only reason I figured out it was a setting in the Usergroup section of the forum permissions.
His link was missing a bracket before the url and both img tags.
It was 2 days ago. I fixed it yesterday after getting your PM.
Now...do me a favor. Make it work in your signature again, and I'll give you $50.
tnx Oak, i knew you were way smarter than shifty
If you want, I can always permanently set the really obscure checkbox that caused this back to the way it was and nuke your signature again, bud. I know you're probably joking, but I'm pissed that the vB people couldn't even tell me why it wasn't working previously.
I showed you the vBulletin thread I created at their forum about this months ago and all of their people were stumped, had no clue how to fix it. They gave a lot of suggestions, but none worked.
I'm leaving it OFF for now so Oakwind can see if he can work around it, and see what you and I dealt with for weeks/months.

Nope, it doesn't work now. Not that I didn't believe you. It just looked like the img tags were over looked in the way his sig was a few days ago.

They were two days ago, but I fixed yesterday. Still didn't work, so I hit the vB forums and there was no action on my previous post requesting help on that one. So I gave up. Then saw you could do it, so I checked to make sure you were in Moderators usergroup, and you were. Then I compared yours and Tensux' and found the discrepancy in the two usergroups that caused no IMG to show in Tensux' sig.

I'm light as a feather!
Problem is, we need to be really careful and cannot simply let "everyone" have the ability to put images in their signatures, because then spammers will be able to come here and place links + images in their signatures (as they already do, but image is blocked).
To prevent screwing genuine members out of using an image (single image) in their signature, and prevent spammers from signing up and adding sigs, I created a new usergoup "Senior Members" and promotion to this as your 'primary group' will be automatic after you've hit a predefined combination (reputation = X) *or* (days registered = Y & number of posts = Z).
All users are placed into group "Registered Users" after you've managed to register. This group has NO permission to use an image in the signature.
Once you've been promoted to "Senior Members" group (after meeting set criteria), you will be allowed to use an image in your signature. You get a few other perks as well (double stored PMs, slightly larger avatar size, etc.)
Hope this helps to clear up any confusion, and results in things working as our members expect.

PS: Oak, if you're a moderator @ Liandri, go into the Usergroup Manager, go into Edit mode for Registered Users group.
Scroll down to the signatures section. Close to the end of the signature list, you will see the "Allow Image BB Code" option. It's pretty nondescript. It should say "Allow Image BB Code in Signature" instead, even though it's in the "Signature" table, there are so many options in that table it's easy to forget/overlook what this option actually does.
Now, this ""Allow Image BB Code" is set to "NO" by default, apparently. Or it was in an older revision and we've just upgraded constantly and it persisted. So, for ever and ever, users have not been able to use signatures (except VIP members, who had a super-special usergroup setup by Wes that gives you uber super ultra features, but you gotta donate to the forum to get in that group!)

Oh, one last thing - I also fixed the "No Logo" theme (see theme chooser in bottom left) because it wasn't working properly. It was setup, but the actual logo portion of the header wasn't commented out, so the logo was still showing.
