I have bought some ****ty titles for $49.99(yeah, I'm lookin' at you CoD:WaW), some so-so ones like Borderlands where I think I got my money's worth, and some really great bang/buck games like Plants vs. Zombies for $4.99, Torchlight for $9.99, and Stalker Shadow off Chernobyl for $5.99 or something.
Picked up the latest iteration of The Bard's Tale from Steam over the weekend for $9.99. GREAT bang/buck game! I played Bard's Tale Destiny Knight in 1989 and Bard's Tale Thief of Fate in 1990, so I have to admit I have a soft spot for the title by way of nostalgia. Still, the game is fairly simple to pick up, not too easy, has a pretty good story, and the voice acting and sarcasm/humor are top notch.
Add The Bard's Tale to my list of great cheap games on Steam.
